Conditions were epic at Whistler last ski season, but winter weather pattern has yet to kick in for 2008-9 season

One year ago it snowed from December 12th everyday through early February at Whistler in British Colombia, Canada. This video below is in the trees at Blackcomb where coverage was 8 feet and growing. A week prior to the launching of the Peak 2 Peak Gondola on 12/12, the alpine at both mountains have barely 18 inches of coverage. A storm front is expected this weekend with hopes of doubling the current base, and once it starts snowing at Whistler, it tends to continue, especially early season. We will be posting daily video blogs from Whistler/Blackcomb for 10 days starting December 9th and cover the historic opening of North America's first gondola linking two mountains from near the summit of each. The engineering marvel is ready over year prior to the Winter Olympic Games coming to Whistler in February 2010. All Snowsports video blogs are viewable at: www.12sportsonline.com.
