The weather outside was frightful, but the action inside delightful as ski resorts from all over the west represented, great deals on equiptment and lift tickets were everywhere, freebies galore, raffles, wine tasting and thousands of skiers and snowboarders took advantage of the first San Francisco Ski and Snowboard Festival at Ft. Mason. The event was the brainchild of Jim McAlpine who operates the the popular website SNOWBOMB.COM. The weekend following halloween was a treat for visitors who enjoyed the festivities, bargains, resort information, and ambience as snowsporters geared up for the upcoming season. All the Sierra ski resorts were on hand, and other non-California mountains like Taos, Whistler, Sun Valley and Ski Utah made their pitches to the riders and sliders who can't wait for the season to begin.
